Image 17 August 2010 Brett Blevins

One of the Sempervivum species seen at the Kendrick Lake Park xeriscape garden in Lakewood, CO. Sempervivum is a genus of about 40 species of succulent plants of the Crassulaceae family which grow in rosettes. Common names used for some of the species (and also for some plants in other related genera) are “houseleek” and “hen and chicks.”
