The darker brown areas are the parts that burned in the August 2008 grass fire, and now the burned part has turned a much deeper green than the unburned part. You can even see the fire line in the lower center. It rained last night, and there is still a lot of moisture in the air, which makes for a hazy view of the distant mountains.
